Biography

Gaetano di Leo is a Corleone native resident, the son of Matteo di Leo and Maria Mondello, who married in 1804. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

Gaetano marries Concetta Moschitta (“Muschetta”), daughter of Giovanni Moschitta and Emmanuela Lucchese (“Lucchisi”), on 19 July 1829. His father has died by this time.^[1]

Gaetano and Concetta have at least four children: Matteo (c. 1831), two daughters named Maria (1834 and 1842), and Giovanni (1836).

Matteo is named after his paternal grandfather, traditional for the first born son. I estimate he is born soon after his parents marry. He marries at least twice, first to Concetta Pollara.

Matteo remarries to Rosa lo Bue on 17 January 1869. His father has died by this time.^[2]
